■ TWO goals from Matthew Fenton gave Bootle the edge in this battle between two sides chasing the play-offs.
The visitors had a couple of decent chances to break the deadlock with Courtney Duffus and Lewis Earl going close, but to no avail.
Bootle took a well-deserved lead after 26 minutes when a corner from Xavier Smith was met at the back post by Fenton, who headed home.
Shifnal pulled level five minutes into the second half, thanks to Matthew Barnes-Homer, who fired home from close range.
