A SINGLE goal from forward Connor Heath saw Leek Town complete a league double at Hurst Cross in a game which never really hit the heights.
Ashton United had restored Mikey O’Neill to their midfield and it was he who came as close as anyone on 24 minutes as he swept Alex Byrne’s cross against the crossbar.
Captain for the day Dylan Cogill almost put the hosts in trouble on seven minutes as he misjudged a high ball, leaving Heath to drag his effort past the right hand upright.
