HEATON Stannington won this battle of two teams clinging to an outside chance of a play-off place.
Garforth made all the running in the early stages, and the Stan had to rely on goalkeeper Lewis Brass to pull off a couple of big saves to deny Charlie Marshall and Rinor Ejupi, before Dale Pearson put the home side ahead after 29 hard-fought minutes.
Heaton had the majority of the second-half chances and it was Garforth’s turn to be kept in the game by their goalkeeper.
