OWN GOAL GIVES TOWN BIG LIFT FOR PLAY-OFFS

CAPTAIN Adam Nicholson led his Stockton side to valuable points.
It was symbolic that the only score was an own goal when Ilkeston defender Tom Marshall unluckily deflected home Josh Scott’s 36th-minute shot.
Centre-half Nicholson was also effective in the Ilkeston penalty area. An early header from a corner forced keeper Alfie Roberts into a decent save.
