■ SECOND-PLACED Matlock overcame Garforth to end a two-game losing streak.
A solitary second-half goal was enough to win this fiercely fought NPL East match, as Matlock put their midweek mauling at Redcar behind them with a solid defensive display.
The visitors rattled the Garforth woodwork early in the first half, but chances were few and far between for either side.
The second half continued in a similar vein until it was punctuated by a fine finish from Theo Upton.
