■ straight defeats, basement club Brighouse Town finally gave their supporters something to smile about with a narrow win over fellow West Yorkshire strugglers Ossett United.
Marcus McKernan’s firsthalf opener was enough to see The Brig pick up their first win since November, to leave the visitors looking nervously over their shoulder.
