SPORTING Khalsa
■picked up a vital win in their bid to beat the drop as they comfortably beat Atherton Collieries.
After a slow start the home side made the breakthrough after a goalmouth scramble when Andre Landell made a neat turn and got his shot away.
A few minutes later Khalsa doubled their lead when a delightful ball from Landell put in Chay Tilt who tucked away expertly.
Atherton made a bright start to the second half with a succession of corners but
failed to take advantage of any of them.
And it came back to bite them as Khalsa extended...
