A SPIRITED second-half fightback wasn’t enough to save Aycliffe’s Step 4 status as Matlock took all three points.
The visitors, already guaranteed second place, opened the scoring in the 32nd minute. A ball from Alfie Atherton found Bruno Andrade who fired into the bottom corner.
It looked all over for Aycliffe in the 49th minute when an Andrade effort was finished by Ryan
Viggars. Jake Orrell pulled a goal back for Aycliffe in the 64th minute and ten minutes later James Sloan scored an equaliser from a Jack Robertson corner.
