■first-half strike gave Blyth what might prove to be a status-saving point in their battle to beat the drop. The impressive strike was enough to bring an end to champions Redcar Athletic’s eight-match winning home run.
More importantly for the visitors, it means that Town go into their last game of the season at home to Garforth knowing a win could save them from the drop.
Their goal came after 22 minutes when Cyril Giraud drove down the wing and played Johnson in at the near post to smash the ball into the top corner.
