BOSS Ian Deakin quit Ilkeston minutes after his talented young side provided a stern workout for play-off side FC United.
He said family reasons had influenced his decision to leave after three years, with the Robins again safe from the drop.
The move shocked home fans, especially as they had just cheered players who carried the Derbyshire Senior Cup around the New Manor Ground.
