SECOND-HALF goals from Rene Howe and Manos Gogonas saw Walton Casuals beat Merthyr Town.
Having survived relegation last season courtesy of a last day victory in south Wales, Casuals had fond memories of Merthyr before today. And nothing will have changed after this encounter, with two second half goals securing all three points after the visitors soaked up plenty of pressure. Merthyr had the better of the first half with Ian Traylor delivering a number of dangerous crosses into the box, but his team mates couldn’t capitalise.
