Saints given a Shove to victory

THE real heroes were the St Ives ground staff who worked tirelessly to ensure that 24 hours of rain on Thursday did not end with this vital game being called off.
The players rewarded their efforts by claiming the hosts’ first win in a dozen games and condemned struggling Redditch United to their 12th league defeat in a row. The game started late as the visitors were held up in A14 traffic and when they did finally arrive, they were caught cold by Ben Seymour-Shove’s rasping 30-yard drive after only three minutes.
