MERTHYR player-manager Gavin Williams helped rescue a point for the hosts after visitors Harrow had initially looked like cruising to victory at Penydarren Park.
A goal in either half from Borough defender Ben Fricker looked likely to send all three points back to London but the introduction of substitute Williams ignited a Merthyr comeback that delighted the home fans.
After their long journey to Wales, Harrow made the perfect start as Fricker headed in the opener for Boro on ten minutes, rising unmarked to head past Alex Harris.
