THE crossbar twice denied Hitchin their first-ever win over disorganised and unyielding Needham Market. As well as these near misses, the Needham Market keeper Marcus Garnham made crucial saves in a game that lacked excitement but not effort.
Early aggression from Hitchin saw Garnham twice punch clear and Max Ryan shoot over the bar before the Needham stopper made a splendid save from a fierce Jack Green drive.
