BEACONSFIELD took what could be a valuable point in their struggle to avoid the drop, although the South Wales weather was the winner.
Both sides struck the frame of the goal in a lively start which promised much.
Louis Stead hit the Merthyr post with a low angled drive after eight minutes. And Merthyr’s Eliot Richards who struck the bar from 10 yards eight minutes later.
Ian Traylor found the Beaconsfield net with a low drive on 27 minutes but was flagged offside.
