■ BERKO remain second after a home win over bottom side Hertford.
The first half was a stalemate with Hertford’s youngsters working hard to keep out a Berkhamsted team that had lots of possession.
As often happens Berko broke the deadlock in the second half playing to the canal end. Lucas Kirkpatrick beat two men on the left of the penalty area and crossed for Lewis Toomey to score from inside the six-yard box.
