SHOLING went into this game looking for a confidence boost and were lifted by new signing Sami Makhloufi’s inclusion.
Cinderford Town, for their part, were led by new manager Alex Sykes.
The first half produced few chances for either side, although new boy Makhloufi saw his effort clip the top of the crossbar.
Then, with six minutes remaining, the game boiled over when Claudio Herbert was dismissed by the referee after what looked like a 50-50 challenge.
