■ CONNOR Whiteley was the hero for Sholing as they edged a tight affair. Whiteley scored in the 62nd minute when he broke away down the left before cutting in and scoring a welltaken goal.
The game started off with Sholing on the front foot with Dan Mason putting the ball in the net after a few minutes, but the linesman put his flag up for offside.
The closest anyone came to scoring in the first half was when a well hit shot by Whiteley was tipped onto the bar by Evesham goalkeeper Lewis Clayton.
