■ THE winter weather showed its teeth in un-pleasant fashion as Cinderford’s match with Bideford was abandoned because of fog. Conditions were poor when the match started, but they gradually deteriorated.
It was goalless at half-time and the floodlights at the New Causeway cast eerie illumination through the mist which was beginning to descend.
The referee tried to get the game to a completion but it quickly became difficult to see what was happening and goalmouth action was subject to speculation. In the end the officials had to concede...
