■ SLIMBRIDGE travelled with hopes of avenging their 5-0 hammering in the reverse fixture in October.
And it was the visitors who struck first when Ben McLean scored in the 22nd minute.
Things went from bad to worse for Melksham 15 minutes later as Kyle Tooze received a red card for violent conduct.
However, this seemed to bring life into this electric Town side, scoring twice in two minutes before the break to turn the game on its head.
A Luke Ballinger penalty and a well-taken finish by Albie Hopkins gave the hosts a 2-1 lead at the break.
