■ BARNSTAPLE picked up a vital three points in their bid to pull off the great escape from relegation.
A tense first half was goalless largely thanks to the efforts of Mangotsfield keeper Marko Radovanovic, who made a string of fine saves.
At the other end, Mangotsfield thought they had taken the lead, only to be denied by an offside flag.
