ABBEY HAVE EDGE OVER LOCAL RIVALS

WALTHAM ABBEY secured a narrow win over local rivals Harlow Town in a game that had all the hallmarks of two teams with little left to play for.
In a first half with few chances, the hosts went ahead just before half-time through former Harlow Town player Christian Adu Gyamfi. A lofted cross into the six-yard box hung tantalisingly in the air and the forward got there first to head home.
