NEWLY promoted Hamworthy went away victors after their first visit to Plain Ham.
The decisive goal came midway through the first half when Sean Wright collected a cross from the right and finished well into the far corner of the net. It was the Larks who had looked likeliest to score at that point though, with midfielder Owen Taylor fluffing his lines when oneon-one with the Hammers’ keeper Tommy Scott.
The second half was scrappier affair as the players tired on a heavy pitch and chances for both sides were fewer.
