HARTLEY Wintney edged out Hayes & Yeading, with both sides fielding new goalkeepers. The kick-off was also delayed 15 minutes due to Hartley’s Damian Niemczycki being stuck in traffic. And once the match was underway, his opposite number also had a tough day.
In the 12th minute, sliding out to the edge of his box to gather, Callum Coulter spilled the ball into the path of Zidan Akers. He teed the ball up for former United man Paul Hodges to fire home past frantic defenders on the line to open the scoring.
