■ WIMBORNE’S final home game of the season attracted New Cuthbury’s largest crowd of the season, 1,044, and with both teams needing a win, it took the two best players on the pitch, both central defenders, to score the goals.
After home keeper Shane Murphy had brilliantly tipped Charlie Madden’s first free-kick over the bar, he was unable to keep out Madden’s second from the edge of the area to give Bideford an early lead.
