NEW Bedford Town boss Lee Bircham insists instant promotion hasn’t been demanded – but says he and his troops will go for it anyway.
The 46-year-old caused a stir when he left Leighton Town at the end of last season after guiding the Step 5 outfit to a league and cup double. That Spartan South Midlands Premier Division title glory earned the Reds a berth in Southern League Division One Central.
Bircham will also be in that division in 2023-24, but with Bedford Town, who finished rock bottomtom of Southern Premier Central last term.
