Southern Premier South fixtures announced

Southern Premier

Relegated Taunton Town and Gloucester City meet each other on the opening day in Southern League Premier South.

Taunton’s two-year stint in National League South ended in April while Gloucester spent 15 years in Step 2. The match will be Richard Luffman’s first in charge of the hosts.

Frome Town’s return to Step 3 opens at Gosport Borough, who reached the play-offs last year. Frome won promotion via that method after five years in Division One South.

Two newly promoted sides, Chertsey Town and Marlow, also have home advantage to start the season. Chertsey host Hungerford while Marlow face Winchester City.

Wimborne Town won promotion back to Pitching In Southern Premier South at the first time of asking. They begin against Hanwell Town, who avoided relegation on goal difference.

The remaining matches see Merthyr Town play Tiverton Town, Plymouth Parkway host Basingstoke Town and Swindon Supermarine face Sholing.
