Walton & Hersham have appointed Jakub Pietrzak as their new first-team manager, following a successful interim spell and just ahead of tomorrow’s Isuzu FA Trophy clash with National League visitors Sutton United.
Pietrzak, who’s been part of the Swans’ coaching setup for over a year, impressed immediately in November, guiding the side to three wins and a draw.
He has previous experience working as a first-team scout at Championship side Millwall and identifying talent for the Polish FA.
He also serves as the director and head coach for the Elite Player Programme.

Proud
Billy Rowley’s departure to National League side Yeovil Town last month left the club without a manager.
The new boss couldn’t hide his excitement at stepping into Rowley’s shoes.
“It’s a fantastic feeling,” Pietrzak told the club’s website. “The club has real ambition, a strong identity and a brilliant group of players.
“To be trusted with leading the team is something I’m genuinely proud of. The support around the club has been top class, and I’m really excited to be a part of it.”
He added: “I’m really looking forward to it. We have a young and talented squad capable of playing exciting, positive football, and my job is to help them express that every week.
“There’s a long way to go, but the belief in this group is strong. If we keep working hard and maintain the style that’s brought us success so far, there’s no reason we can’t finish the season in a position everyone at the club can be proud of.”

Fresh perspective
Co-owner Calogero Scannella said: “When it came to choosing a successor for the management, Jakub was the first choice.
“Continuity is a key to long term success. Someone who the players trust, respect and can bring a fresh perspective having already been in the building for almost 2 years.
“And off the pitch, after speaking with Jakub, it became clear how invested he is in this club and building the community around it.
“A character trait like this is invaluable and something the club must have.”
Special
The club confirmed he will be in the dugout for Saturday’s match against Sutton.
The Swans later confirmed the arrival of former Brentford and Billericay Town forward Julian Charles as Pietrzak’s assistant manager.
Julian said: “Being a part of Walton & Hersham feels so special. It’s identity is shaped by the passion of those who continue it every day as well as by its history.
“I sensed a culture based on unity, a desire to push boundaries, and sincere ambition as soon as I stepped in.
“I’m honoured to represent the club, and I don’t take it lightly to be accepted into that setting.”
Scannella added: “With all the recent change, we needed to make sure that the management team brought a level of consistency on and off the pitch. Julian brings that and more.
“The first thing I noticed upon speaking with him is the detail he goes to in everything he does.
“I am certain this level of clarity will bring added value to both the dressing room and development of the club as a whole as we look to continue growing our academy setup.
“Julian has expressed his passion for the development of this community to great lengths and this unified vision will help the club to continue to move forward.”
