NEWLY-PROMOTED Atherton Collieries got one over on their rivals Colne thanks to goals at both ends of the game.
The first was a gift from the Colne keeper after only four minutes when a misdirected clearance was returned into the goalmouth where Ben Hardcastle forced the ball home to give Colls an early lead.
Colne struggled to recover and played second fiddle for much of the game.
They pushed forward in a late rally and had several good efforts blocked in in the visitors goalmouth as they looked for an equalising goal.
