A TYPICAL start-of-season clash left Drayton and Stamford in stalemate, with much to feel reasonably happy about but plenty to work on.
The effort and commitment was there in abundance from both camps but defences were generally on top, with James O’Reilly and Andy Hartlebury prominent and keeper Ashley Rawlins outstanding for Town while Delroy Gordon was a rock for the visitors.
Stamford kept Rawlins by far the busier keeper but apart from a top draw flying save to deny Jordan Smith early on.
