JACK MIDSON netted early and late to get Leatherhead off the mark.
Midson poked the Tanners in front on six minutes, after a good ball from Lee Minshull set Chike Kandi away and Kandi’s cross picked Midson out.
Two minutes later, Midson should have doubled his and his side’s tally but blazed a great chance over the bar after again being set up by Kandi.
Leatherhead were the more dominant and creative force, getting plenty of crosses into the Trawlerboys penalty area.
