A FABULOUS strike from James Hammond in injury time secured Lewes an impressive win in a game that saw the goalkeepers dominate the battle.
In a very competitive 45 minutes, Herne Bay keeper Ben Hunter pulled off three top-drawer saves while Chris Winterton was lucky to keep his goal intact when Jake Embery hit the bar.
The second half followed suit, with Hunter doing everything to keep the game all square, but not even he could stop Hammond’s thunderbolt, snatching the points with a superb effort from 30 yards in added time.
