RYAN Johnson’s early penalty settled this Kent derby in Hythe’s favour.
New signing Jerson Dos Santos, was clattered by Ashford keeper, George Kamurasi in the fourth minute and skipper Johnson, duly converted.
Kamurasi made amends, particularly in the second half, with a string of sharp saves, from a low drilled shot by Ben Wilson, a close-range header from Dean Grant and a flying tip over from Dos Santos’ rasping free-kick.
