ASHFORD claimed a deserved win as two firsthalf goals were enough to see off a meek Aylesbury.
The hosts started the game from the outset and comfortably controlled the first half with goals coming from Jake Beadle in the seventh minute and an own goal in the 25th.
Aylesbury started to press higher with more passion after the break but they could not break down Ashford’s defence.
The hosts soaked it up and became a some what complacent as the game drifted towards the close and that encouraged the away side to surge forwards in numbers.
