AFC Sudbury twice came from behind before claiming the win five minutes from time.
Heybridge took the lead on the half-hour through Juan Luque and it stayed that way until the 64th minute when Sam Clarke equalised for Sudbury from the penalty spot after Louis Blake had been fouled.
Heybridge went back in front on 67 minutes when Luque scored a free-kick. AFC drew level again with 15 minutes remaining when Adam Mills forced an goalkeeper error and Blake fired in.
