■ BOURNE went second in the South Division after a hard-fought win.
This Kent derby was settled by top scorer Bola Dawodu’s 78th minute goal. Hythe, on a good run of results, battled well, going closest when Jerson Dos Santos headed against the top of the bar.
Bourne defended well, with John Coker outstanding, and goalkeeper Daren Hawkes coming out of his goal to cut out any threats.
Their lively substitutes swung it when David Smith ran from his own half to set up Dawodu’s emphatic winner.
