GEORGE Sykes buried a hattrick as Witham Town’s bad spell continued against Canvey Island.
The visitors scored their opening goal when the Witham goalkeeper Lewis Moore spilled the ball at the feet of Sykes who tapped it home with only eight minutes played.
He scored his and his side’s second after 20 min- utes with a low shot out from on the left wing.
Witham pulled one back in the 27th minute when Usman Adeniji crept in behind the defence to score following a corner.
