JAKE Embery’s fine second-half strike saw Herne Bay edge out Walton Casuals.
Herne Bay had to play 70 minutes with ten men following captain Jono Richardson’s dismissal for denying a goalscoring opportunity, but Josh Kelly hit the penalty wide.
Embery’s strike in the 55th minute, with an assist from substitute Connor Cox making his debut, rocked the Stags.
Frustration crept into the Casuals’ game ending with sub Stefan Cox dismissed for a reckless challenge in injury time.
