ISMAEL EHUI’S first-half goal was a worthy winner as Hayes & Yeading United saw off AFC Rushden & Diamonds in a tight contest.
With both teams struggling to cope with the difficult wind, the home side took the lead in the 26th minute after some brilliant play.
Luke Joyce-Dwarika twisted and turned his way past three Rushden defenders before a neat reverse pass presented Ehui with just the goalkeeper to beat. Ehui made no mistake, tucking the ball into the bottom corner, giving Ben Heath no chance.
