AN INSPIRED performance from goalkeeper Charlie Mann saw Hertford Town record their first ever win against Canvey Island at Hertingfordbury Park. Hertford took the lead after 20 minutes when Ricky Light’s cross from the right found the head of Michael Toner who directed his effort just inside the post.
Canvey hit the woodwork on 42 minutes when Ryan Charles’ header hit the bar with George Craddock’s follow-up effort saved by Mann. They also struck the woodwork twice more.
