Leaders thankful to scoring hero Hearn

LEAGUE leaders Basford United completed a comfortable victory.
They dominated the opening period, but had only Liam Hearn’s 25th minute goal to show at the break.
Hearn blasted in a shot from 12 yards.
Saul Deeney had been a virtual spectator at the other end but he had to be alert two minutes from half time, pulling off a fine save from Jordan Francis’ shot.
Hearn doubled their lead seven minutes into the second half from the penalty spot and then completed his hat-trick after 65 minutes with an emphatic finish.
