HERNE BAY goalkeeper Ben Hunter was the star as he made a string of fantastic saves.
Carshalton dominated the first half, with Hunter making three great saves to keep his side in the game.
Jake Emburey opened the scoring for Herne Bay on 61 minutes, running through to lob the goalkeeper and, within four minutes of coming on as a sub, Josh Wisson finished smartly. It could have been worse for Carshalton as Tom Carlton saw an effort hit the post with two efforts cleared off the line.
