■DECIDING to play on a Friday night bore fruit for AFC, as a hard earned win maintained their title push.
The games between these two clubs are always a tight affair and this was no different. This was the fourth meeting between the two since each were promoted from Step Five two seasons ago and the previous three fixtures had seen Kempston win by the odd goal.
A Nathan Frater free-kick opened the scoring for the hosts on 28 minutes. At the start of the second half BJ Christie doubled AFC’s lead after good work by Frater.
