WINFIELD RETURN A BOOST FOR FLEET

NOT expected back until Christmas, Ebbsfleet United captain Dave Winfield defied the odds to make an emotional return to competitive action last weekend.
Defender Winfield ruptured his medial cruciate ligament in just the second game of the season at home to Kent rivals Maidstone, with initial reports suggesting it could be the end of his campaign.
But test results revealed the 29-year-old did not require surgery and after four months on the sidelines he was back in action, coming on as a substitute in Fleet’s 4-0 victory over Guiseley.
