THURROCK came from a goal down to consign Worthing to a defeat which leaves them four points adrift at the bottom, the hosts missing a late penalty.
The goalkeepers took centre stage in the first half. Ben McNamara made numerous saves for Thurrock and Lucas Covolan kept it 0-0 with a string of stops just before the break.
Worthing had the better of the first half and deservedly took the lead on 46 minutes when Reece Myles-Meekums raced in to slot past McNamara.
