Shortwood took the lead on 14 minutes when Ryan Thwaite crossed for Nick Humphreys, who fired into the bottom corner. Adam Learoyd then deflected Joe White’s cross into his own net.
On 30 minutes, Sam Elkins nodded home a Stuart Cattell cross to give Didcot hope. But Ollie Thomas was sent off for a two-footed challenge on Humphreys three minutes later and Liam Meredith gave Shortwood a 3-1 lead with a first-time volley.
