BOSS BROWN STEPS DOWN

RICHARD Brown has quit as manager of Ellesmere Rangers after a 4-1 defeat by FC Oswestry Town in a TJ Vickers Cup quarter-final on Tuesday. Brown, who turned down the manager’s job at Evo-Stik South side Market Drayton Town in December, said he believed he could take Ellesmere no further forward.
His West Midlands (Regional) Premier side had won just one game out of four when he decided to call it a day, adding that some of his players were “shell shocked” over his decision. His assistant Tim Jackson has also decided to step down.
