A BLISTERING Robert Briggs hat-trick helped South Shields cement their place at the top of the Evo-Stik North table with a 3-1 victory over Skelmsersdale, as they took another giant leap towards the title.
Briggs notched up his first goal of the afternoon after just six minutes when Louis Storey’s strike was parried into the path of the striker, whose deflected effort trickled home to take the wind of Skelmersdale’s sails.
