THE New Saints have been crowned JD Welsh Premier League champions for the seventh season in succession – without having to kick a ball.
The title was secured after Bala Town went down 1-0 against Connah’s Quay Nomads and means Saints now, with five games left to play, cannot be caught.
Ironically it was ex-TNS striker Michael Wilde’s goal off the bench for the Nomads on 63 minutes that did for Bala and sparked the early celebrations for his former club.
