LEISTON were unable to make ground on the play-offs as they were held to stalemate by midtable Thurrock.
The away side could have snatched all three points seven minutes from the end but Jack Ainsley put his penalty wide.
Thurrock are down to their last ever three home games with Ship Lane up for sale due to chairman Tommy South not able to continue due to health issues after 35 years of ownership.
Mark Stimson’s side have been trying to end on a high in recent weeks having won their last four games prior to today.
